Planning Ahead with

The New River Scenic Railway

Seating is limited so reservations are recommended, but are not strictly required. The train can periodically, unexpectedly, or frequently sell out. It is unpredictable so contact our ticket agent (423-663-8899). He/she will be more than happy to generously inform you on specific availability.
As stated above, reservations are not required, but if you choose to do so you can make a request for certain seat types, but unfortunately you cannot request a specific seat. Arriving earlier than departure time will help ensure that "your" seat is available.
Reservations once made are rarely refunded. So consider it set it stone. Your reservation will always be graciously rescheduled for whatever reason. Refunds are only considered when a train unexpectedly does not operate, or repairs are needed, engineer unavailable, etc. You will be given the options of refund or rescheduling.
Reservations can be made for large groups. 20 or more people in a group are covered by the group fare rate. a 50% deposit is due at least 15 days prior to date of visit. Deposits will be lost if cancellation occurs 5 or less days of reservation date. Contact our ticket agent (423-663-8899) for details.
